Britannia Hotels are renowned for offering great value for money and I am pleased you were able to take us up on one of these. We have used caledonian travel many times over the years and couldnt fault it. Yes it was remote. I didn't enjoy my stay as the fire alarm went off during my sleep around three or four times and woke my children up and wouldn't stop for around 5/10mins non stop. on 12/05/2022, Went on the bemish trip on the 6th of May what a great weekend we had hotel was fantastic but evening meal nit that good but staff fab would go back bus driverwas excellent thanks so much the 4 ladies had a ball x, written by Departing from Scotland, North East & Yorkshire. For each evening meal, you are given a choice of four starters, four main courses and four desserts, all of which were of excellent quality (photos as evidence ). The staff at this hotel are polite and the kitchen and restaurant manager and staff are helpful. Again nice to know the bathroom was being cleaned but they did not have to leave the cloth to prove it.The restaurant was very busy as there were 5 coach parties in. On very rare occasions the party will arrive, before the room assistant has had time to service the room and I do apologise that this is what happened to you. Caledonian Travel is an award winning coach holiday company providing coach holidays from Scotland, the Northern England and Yorkshire. I sorry your stay wasn't up to your standards. The beach view bungalow was spacious and comfortable and we had our own balcony with lounger. The staff at this hotel are polite and the kitchen and restaurant manager and staff are helpful. Get in touch to book an unforgettable UK holiday with Hays Travel. The rooms are very spacious, old fashioned but the bed's are comfortable and we both had a great night's sleep!Suprisingly, we had a good weekend, and I guess the saying is right 'Don't judge a book by it's cover.' Cleanliness poor . I am pleased that overall you did enjoy your stay with us though. Nothing was to much trouble,he even showed us hidden gems which I can't wait to visit again and stay a while longer next time. cALEDONIAN TRAVEL TOUR. I would not recommend this hotel nor ever stay here again. The only downside to the weekend was the breakfast with 3 coach loads of people it should have had staggered breakfast times for each coach. Only stay here if your on a night out and you can get it cheap. Would highly recommend this holiday and hotel. We have over 2000 people go through the restaurant every week and only a small percentage of people say anything bad. I am sorry that you felt the receptionist was being rude when he asked you about what you wanted to buy, he was asking so he knew where to send you as we have various shops around us. Went to County mayo, knock and achill island, our driver Robert was an absolutely amazing guy who could . ).- The surfaces of the drawers, TV, bed sheets, bath etc were all clean and without dust.- The bed was big, comfy and warm, which is the main thing.- The bathroom facilities were very good. A man with a fountain of knowledge of London and amazing driving skills, took us everywhere, there was no where that we missed because of him. Unfortunately on check in we were given a room that had not yet been cleaned so we had to go back down to reception and be allocated another room. From breakfast to dinner, the quality of the food was atrocious! I am not going there again, customer service was no good and staff were rude, when explained about the fire alarm. on 03/10/2021, Just returned from Isle of Wight Shanklin Beach Hotel couldnt fault the room with balcony overlooking the sea bit dated but clean the evening meals were not up to standard went out a couple of nights as nothing on menu to get excited about breakfast ok my one complaint is we had to share a table with 2 strangers for the whole time not good in current situation COVID we were on second sitting which meant be the time you had eaten entertainment room was full so cant comment on entertainment but other guests said it was mediocre bus driver was brilliant informative and helpful thank you wouldnt return to this hotel but put it down as a experience, written by Many thanks for taking the time to write your review. Yet, he himself, never wore a mask at any time. Bus was very comfortable and driver great but we arrived at the Adelphi at 2pm and instructed to go back at 4pm to collect our cases and check into the hotel at 4pm. The hotel was clean, rooms were clean and very comfortable. we were put in a very small room which was way too hot and got changed to a much bigger room the following night after a few requests. DebMarcia I know its not pleasant, but it is for your safety. This meant we had breakfast in the hotel (buffet style). However, a few people on the bus became disgruntled when they realised our destination was Peterhead and that the hotel was quite remote (chance you take if you book a Mystery Tour!!) The room had everything you need, hair dryer, TV etc, it was warm, spotlessly clean, and water was hot. Having read numerous reviews prior to our trip, we were a little apprehensive about the quality of the food but our fears were unfounded. on 01/09/2022, well i don't know who wrote those reviews must have been on the moon Just returned from Tina live tribute with Caledonian travel, first of all can't fault the coach, the drivergreat guy! The buffet breakfast is very nice indeed, very good quality bacon and sausages. They have a wide range of holidays. Most of my negative comments are in relation to Caledonian Travel. Near the rock in the middle of the bay is a good spot. There was also free wifi throughout which is a refreshing change from being asked to pay over the odds to go online. The only down side is they don't have a lot of single rooms even though there is lots of solo travellers. "This is a lovely hotel, it was a shame that road and pavement works were going on, as it spoilt the stay a bit ", A verified traveler stayed at Hotel Le Lagon Noumea, "Really enjoyed the location, the beach side rooms are spectacular! Registered Office: Gilbridge House, Keel Square. I am sorry to read your review and see things were not as they should have been when you arrived. I can't comment on the food as I skipped both dinner and breakfast in favour of staying in bed. written by This is not an official Caledonian Travel group, therefore we kindly ask that you do not rely on this group to raise concerns or complaints regarding your holiday. more. I hope something can be done on this matted, written by loch Lomand and Glasgow not bad (day 3) but the trip to Troon, Ayr and Girvan was awful, not nice towns and Girvin was like a war zone with mostly shut down shops and the most depressing of high street, if you don't like spending time in a pub a waste of time as there was nothing to do and nowhere to go! Stayed here for one night. written by I don't normally bother leaving reviews, but this time I had to. Ok, this is very much a cheap budget hotel, the parking is very limited - 4 spots - for the size of hotel and the area looks a little rundown. It seems to service an older bunch of people, who looked fairly ancient to me, and Im in my 60s! We were just enjoying the Cavern Club when we had to head back to the hotel for our case. Perhaps if you return again, you could mention this to Caledonian. Otherwise you have to take a shuttle to Kuto bay for the boat tour. Once we've checked over your answer we will put it live on the site so others can gain from your experience. The driver was nice, helpful and drove safely. We were initially given room 101 which was unfortunately the size of a shoebox and right above the kitchen so not only was it virtually impossible to turn round in the shower cubicle or, without being too graphic, use the toilet without banging your elbows and having to sit sideways but there was also a huge industrial extractor fan which started up when the staff were obviously starting to prepare the breakfast and the noise from this was unreal. Cavern Club live band was fantastic! Recommended for a basic overnight stay, would use it again. Our booking was also an "inclusive" deal, so came with four drinks each across the 3 nights and were premium brands which is always a bonus. really nice lounge area. The hotel is tired, poor quality, dirty in some places, grubby in others. our bus driver was brilliant and very informative about the history of Glasgow. On a positive note the staff were friendly, we had no towels in room and reception sent a friendly man immediately with towels, evening meal was standard, breakfast was better. Then we were taken to the Holiday Inn Express Stockport where we spent the night and had dinner. The food was abysmal! We were also disturbed by the seagulls early in the morning.Generally, you can see the remnants of its former glory, but now it is just run-down.
